Spring Training Game 12: Orioles at Red Sox

Brad Bergesen makes his second Spring appearances, taking on most of the Sox starting line-up. O’s batters will need to deal with the fluttering of Tim Wakefield’s knuckleball.

The Good:

* Luke Scott and Brandon Snyder each went 2-3 with a double and a homer.

* Pedro Florimon had a couple hits, including a triple.

* Lou Montanez went 2-5, and Justin Turner went 2-4.

* Overall, the offense pounded out 14 hits and put 8 runs on the board.

The Bad:

* Bergy wasn’t too sharp, giving up 2 runs on 5 hits and a walk in 2.2 IP. Judging by the home run and the 4 flyouts to 3 groundouts, I’d guess that he wasn’t getting the ball down as much as he’d like.

* Chris Tillman came out in relief, and didn’t seem to have his good control. He walked 3 and gave up a homer, also being charged with 2 runs in 2.2 IP.

* Despite the offense, the O’s didn’t draw a single walk in the game.

Orioles win 8-4 – their second victory in a row – and improve their Spring Training record to 4-8.
