Projecting The 2010 Orioles: Relievers

As you may know, I’m trying to compile some community projects for the 2010 Orioles here:

Quoting from Tom Tango’s Fan Scouting Report Project:

“Baseball’s fans are very perceptive. Take a large group of them, and they can pick out the final standings with the best of them. They can forecast the performance of players as well as those guys with rather sophisticated forecasting engines. Bill James, in one of his later Abstracts, had the fans vote in for the ranking of the best to worst players by position. And they did a darn good job…

What I would like to do now is tap that pool of talent.“

Instead of using it to rate players just defensively, I’d like your input on how the Orioles players will perform in 2010.

If you’re quite enterprising, then you can head over to the full page and fill out projection sheets for all of the O’s players. I thought it might be a bit easier to handle doing it in pieces though, so below you’ll find links for just the relievers.

Gonzalez, Mike

Johnson, Jim

Uehara, Koji

Hendrickson, Mark

Mickolio, Kam

Albers, Matt

Meredith, Cla

Ohman, Will

Click on any player’s name and you’ll be taken to a form where you can fill out the player’s name, playing time (innings pitched), production (ERA), and position (you can split the innings between starting and relieving if you’d like – or specify closer, set-up man, mop-up man, etc). You can fill out all or part of the form, and you don’t need to stick to the formats for some of the sections as specified if you don’t want to. If you think someone else will get some relief innings for the team, feel free to fill that in as well. Best guesses are more than acceptable, and thank you very much for the help.
