Dave wanted to see what Luke Scott’s home run chart looked like, and I’d thought I’d combine 2009 (in red) and 2008 (in black) to encapsulate his time with the Orioles.
Scott clearly has some power. He led the Orioles in standard home run distance (which adjusts for wind, elevation, etc.) in both 2009 and 2008. As expected, most of his longballs were pulled to right-field, but he can take one out to center or left as well. He actually got better with using the whole field in ’09, as you can see the red dots are more spread out while the black ones are more concentrated over the scoreboard (though the actual ballpark in which each home run was hit isn’t accounted for here). Four of those bombs did reach Eutaw St. though.
