Game 74: Orioles 6, Nationals 5

The Good:

* Miguel Tejada picked up 3 hits, and Matt Wieters went 3-4.

* Nick Markakis went 2-4 and drew a free pass.

* Adam Jones hit yet another home run. He’s up to 12 on the year, which is surprising to see.

* Second day in a row the bullpen was called upon before one would like and they were able to keep the Nationals off the board. Nice job by Hendrickson, Berken, Ohman, and Shutdown Sauce to close it out.

The Bad:

* Brad Bergesen was brought up after one start in the minors, and got knocked around despite 9 groundball to 3 flyballs. Final line: 4 IP, 6 H, 5 R, 2 BB, 0 K.

* Luke Scott went 0-4 with a pair of strike-outs.

The Final:

The Orioles once again dug themselves into an early hole – 5 runs today – but managed to battle back, with the winning run scoring on a Washington misplay (this time a wild pitch). The 6-5 win gives the O’s their third three-game winning streak of the year and improves their record to 22-52.
