* David Hernandez did a nice job, recovering from a shaky first inning to post a line of 6.1 IP, 7 H, 3 R, 2 BB, 2 K. The 9 groundouts to 6 flyouts is also a plus.
* Ty Wigginton doubled and walked, and scored the team’s only run.
* Julio Lugo got chewed out by Jim Palmer and Gary Thorne for not hustling on a groundout. And by not hustling, I mean moving so slowly that the shortstop might have had time to run the ball over to first-base. I don’t usually care about that kind of thing too much, but if you’re not going to give 100% then I’d take 85-90% – not 35%. Especially when the team isn’t scoring runs.
* It’s getting kind of absurd now. One run for the offense, on 4 hits and 2 walks. Pretty pathetic, even if the M’s have that great defense.
O’s lose 3-1. The team’s now 2-13. Would anyone take the over on a 70 win season at this point? They’d only need to play .462 ball (a 75 win pace for a full season), which I don’t think is too unreasonable, but I have a hard time thinking there’s much optimism for 2010 left. The season was never really about wins and losses for me anyway, but it’s still frustrating.
